Students, are you looking for internships and jobs?

Employers, are you looking for students to hire as interns and employees?

The Huntley College of Agriculture is holding its annual Ag Career Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, in the Ursa Major room at the Bronco Student Center.

As of Jan. 22, nearly three dozen companies and agencies had registered to have a table and representatives at Ag Career Day, including Armstrong Garden Center, Progressive Produce, the Riverside County Agricultural Commissioner, Ross Stores Inc., the Southern California Institute of Food Technologists, and the USDA. The deadline for companies to register is Jan. 31.

Students are encouraged to attend this free event, dress professionally, and bring their resumes, cover letters, and business cards so they can network with company representatives.

For those students who have a limited budget for professional clothing, check out the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center Clothes Closet for free clothes or Goodwill for low-cost clothes. For resume tips, see the Cal Poly Pomona Career Guide.

Ag Career Day will have a Best Resume Contest, Dress for Success Opportunity Drawing, door prizes, the opportunity to get a free professional portrait and company swag.

Students must register in advance, print out their paper ticket, and bring it to Ag Career Day.

Huntley College of Agriculture faculty and staff are encouraged to attend a breakfast mixer at 9:15 a.m.  – before the event begins – so they can welcome and network company representatives. Faculty and staff are asked to register for the event.

For more information, students and companies can contact Sharon Ellis.
