A professor and staff employee from the Huntley College of Agriculture have earned honors from the University Library for a chapter they co-wrote for a book on food safety.
Professor Harmit Singh, chair of the Department of Nutrition and Food Science, and Holly Greene, compliance and safety specialist for the Department of Animal and Veterinary Science were given honorable mention in the library’s 2019 Golden Leaves awards program.
The two co-wrote a chapter on “Food Safety Reforms in the United States: The Food Safety Modernization Act” in the book, “Food Safety and Protection.”
Since 1986, the library’s Golden Leaves program has recognized members of the Cal Poly Pomona campus community – faculty, staff, students, alumni, and retirees – who have authored or edited a book in the preceding year.
The books are on display in the library during April. The Golden Leaves program is celebrated annually in conjunction with National Library Week.
The library plans to recognize this year’s Golden Leaves honorees at a reception, 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, April 12, in its Special Collections room.
