Honor Society Inducts Students
Seventeen Huntley College of Agriculture students were inducted this spring into the Gamma Sigma Delta honor society.
Gamma Sigma Delta is a national honor society dedicated to recognizing students, faculty, alumni, or supporters in the agricultural area. Inductees are nominated or invited by local chapter to join the organization.
Juniors, seniors, and graduate students in agriculture and related sciences are eligible if they meet the following Gamma Sigma Delta criteria:
- Junior students who scholastically rank in the top 5 percent and senior students who scholastically rank in the upper 15 percent of their class and show promise of leadership may be nominated for membership each year. No more than 15 percent of the senior class can be members of Gamma Sigma Delta.
- Graduate students of outstanding ability with at least a 3.5/A=4.0 or better grade point average and who show great potential for future leadership can be nominated by chapter members and elected.

Traditionally, the Cal Poly Pomona chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta would hold a banquet toward the end of the spring semester for the inductees.
However, this year’s banquet was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Inductees will receive their certificates, cords, and pins by mail from animal and veterinary science Lecturer Holly Greene, who advises the club.
