Students Attend Virtual Ag Career Day

Huntley College of Agriculture students met with more than a dozen employers during a virtual version of Ag Career Day.

Ag Career Day was hosted virtually on Feb. 18 through the Handshake employment app. Employers created a schedule to meet with students either on an individual or a group basis.

Fifteen employers and 88 students registered with a total of 25 group sessions and 97 individual appointments.

The employers included:

  • Leader Creek Fisheries
  • Savatree
  • Yosemite Farm Credit
  • LandCare
  • CN Utility Consulting
  • The Davey Tree Expert Company
  • Central Garden & Pet
  • Peace Corps
  • USDA Agricultural Marketing Service
  • USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, Pacific Regional Field Office
  • Executive Landscape, Inc.
  • Frieda's Specialty Produce
  • Cal Ag Jobs
  • Altman Plants
  • USDA NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service).

Students were encouraged to dress professionally for the remote career fair and required to register for the event in advance. Thirty-two attended an optional, week-long résumé workshop on Zoom.

The Cal Poly Pomona Career Center organized the event, which was free for students to attend.
