Companies Meet Students at Ag Career Day

Student talks with company representatives at 2017 Ag Career Day

Forty businesses and agencies came looking for prospective interns and employees during the 2017 Ag Career Day on Jan. 24 at the Bronco Student Center.

Armstrong Garden Centers, Associates Insectary, CalAgJobs, Farmer John, Frieda’s, HORN, Nationwide Agribusiness, Natural Balance Pet Foods Inc. and Vetericyn were just some of the businesses represented. Government agencies that participated included Caltrans, Department of Pesticide Regulation, USDA, and the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner.

Ag Career Day was attended by 317 Cal Poly Pomona students. They could talk with employer representatives and get a professional photo portrait taken.

Nelly Moreno and Timothy Batz were the winners of the Professional Dress Raffle. Charizma Mendoza and Barbara King won the resume contest judged by the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center.

The event is sponsored by the Huntley College of Agriculture’s Recruitment and Retention Office.
