The college booth at the event. The Huntley College of Agriculture put itself on display for hundreds of California farmers and ranchers this month at the California Farm Bureau’s Annual Meeting.

At the event, which was held Dec. 2-7 in Monterey, the farm bureau has traditionally held a tradeshow.

This year, the farm bureau invited members for the first time to share the produce and other artisanal goods from their operations in what was dubbed The California Marketplace on Dec. 4. Service and education-oriented members were invited to set up exhibit booths.

The Huntley College had a booth at the Monterey Conference Center staffed by Recruitment and Retention Specialist Sharon Ellis. The booth had flyers and other marketing material promoting the college.

In addition to the farm bureau, attendees from the Your Farmers & Ranchers State Conference participated in the marketplace.

The farm bureau’s annual meeting features sessions of the organization’s House of Delegates and educational workshops on agricultural policy, advocacy, state and federal regulations, and pesticide licensing issues.

The bureau advocates on behalf of the agricultural community to protect the future and quality of life for California farmers and ranchers.
