The Department of Animal & Veterinary Sciences will celebrate National Pet Week by holding a pet expo and pet spa.

The first Poly Pet Expo will be held Wednesday, May 4, on the Quad. The expo will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and include dog agility demonstrations, various pet-related booths and Pumba the Pig.

The department is also holding an Instagram contest for the best event or pet photo. The hashtag is #polypetexpo16, with the winning photographer receiving $25 in Bronco Bucks.

On Thursday, May 5, AVS will hold its first Pet Spa Day and low-cost vaccine clinic.

Faculty, staff and students can bring their dogs and cats for vaccinations and free toenail trims and anal gland expressions. Dogs and cats must be on a leash or in a carrier and are only allowed on campus for the event. Vaccinations are $10 per shot (DHPP, bordatella and rabies vaccines are available for dogs; FVCRP and rabies for cats).

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Building 67. Space is limited to the first 150 pets. One ticket is required for each pet; RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/spa-day-and-vaccine-clinic-tickets-24536451186.
