Health Care Reimbursement Accounts

The CSU Health Care Reimbursement Account is a voluntary benefit for eligible employees that offers significant tax advantages and could increase an employee's take home pay. The plan allows for the reimbursement of out-of-pocket health expenses from money deducted from an employee's paycheck before federal, state and FICA taxes are deducted. Taxable income on an employee's annual W-2 statement will be reduced by the amount placed in the account.

Expenses eligible to be reimbursed from the CSU Health Care Reimbursement Account are expenses incurred by an employee, employee's spouse, and dependents (including domestic partner) for the diagnosis, cure, treatment or prevention of disease, and for treatments affecting any part or function of the body. The expenses must be to alleviate or prevent a physical defect or illness. Expenses solely for cosmetic reasons or expenses that are merely beneficial to a person's general health are not reimbursable. Employees may contribute the minimum monthly pre-tax deduction amount for each account of $20.00, and up to a maximum of $229.16 for HCRA ($2,750 annual maximum). An after-tax administration fee of $1.00 is deducted from each pay warrant in which there is a monthly HCRA contribution. 

Claims reimbursements are processed daily.

Announcing a new FSA Store feature through ASIFlex!


We are pleased to announce that ASIFlex has announced a new feature through the FSA store that eliminates the use of your debit card. Your HCRA account will now be directly connected to the FSA Store which makes it easier and faster for you to purchase items. This cardless pay feature is available immediately and the amount spent within the FSA Store will automatically be deducted from your HCRA Account.


Below are the steps on how this feature will work.


  1. You will need to sign into your ASIFlex.com account
  2. You will then click on the FSA Store Shopping Link
  3. You will be able to select the products and proceed to checkout
  4. You will be required to choose the ASIFlex payment option
  5. ASIFlex will then pay the FSA Store directly and the products will be shipped directly to your address on file
