On-Campus Virtual Interview Program

Employers: As the Career Center looks at ways of assisting you during this time, we have updated ways you can use virtual services and programs of the Career Center.  Our number one priority will always be the health and safety of our students, employers, faculty/staff, and alumni.

Effective recruiting begins with establishing a strong presence on campus. With access to over 23,000 students and alumni, the Career Center can connect you to the talent that you seek. The On-Campus Interview Program offers a professional recruitment to conduct interviews for entry-level professional and internship positions. Program services includes: Organized scheduling of interviews through Handshake, email blasts to reach targeted students and alumni, announcements to campus clubs and related organizations.

On-Campus Interviewing is available to you for just $50 per interview schedule.

Included with the On-Campus Virtual Interview is the advertisement of your scheduled interviews via email blasts to students and club outreach. Email outreach will be based upon the majors and class level of the students selected.

Please note that you will need to set-up your own virtual application on your device in order to conduct the interviews.  Applications such as Zoom, Skype, Webex or any other can be used. The meeting link will be provided to the students who sign-up for an interview.

The jobs must be Career Center approved full-time or paid internships. Campus interviews must be directly scheduled and conducted by the organization's employees, rather than by third party representatives. Employers who recruit at Cal Poly Pomona must adhere to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines, the National Association of Colleges and Employers Principles for Employment Professionals, and the Policies and Guidelines laid out by California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Employer participation in Cal Poly Pomona's career services programs is a privilege not a right, and Cal Poly Pomona reserves the right to exercise its discretion to determine which employers may participate or to withdraw an offer to participate at any time.

Each candidate would meet with an Interviewer for half of the scheduled time. If an employer is interested in this option, please contact Gerard Russo the Recruiting Coordinator at gjrusso@cpp.edu or 909-869-2336 to discuss the details of this type of schedule.

Interview Model

You may choose from three Preferred Timelines for your interviews.  The Preferred Timeline is the process on how you want your recruitment and scheduling conducted.

Preselect to Alternate

The students will submit their resume and any other requested documents at the time of applying.  The employer will review the resume and other documents.  After review, the employer will select those applicants that they would like to invite for an interview as a “Primary” candidate.  The employer will also select “Alternate” candidates as a back-up.

Open

The students will submit their resume and any other requested documents.  At the same, time the students will select an interview time slot.  In this model, the employer will not be reviewing resumes.  All students that apply will be interviewed.

Room Only

Employers will make a “Room Only” request when they already have the applicants and a set schedule.  Applicants will typically be obtained from a previous event such as a career fair, information session or other networking event.  All applicants must be current Cal Poly Pomona students or alumni to be interviewed.

Day of the Interview

During the academic year, the Career Center is open Monday-Friday from 8 AM – 5 PM. Interviews begin at 8:30 AM and must concluded by 4:30 PM.
