Why take a Career Assessment?

Career assessments can provide meaningful information about these factors that can build a foundation for choosing or changing a major and finding a career path that you can commit to with enthusiasm. Understanding your skills, interests, and values are an important part of finding confidence about your career direction. Being able to identify your energizing skills, your sustainable interests and your valued outcomes is an integral part of the career development process.

MBTI logo The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®)  The most widely used personality assessment in the world. It offers a foundation for understanding individual differences and applying that understanding to the ways people think, communicate, and interact.
Strong Interest Inventory logo The Strong Interest Inventory (SII)  Reflects your interests in relation to occupations. It does not test your skills nor abilities. The SII instrument is a powerful tool that can help you make satisfying decisions about your career and education.
Strengths Quest logo The StrengthsQuest (SQ)  Gives students and educators the opportunity to develop strengths by building on their greatest talents. With SQ, participants can discover their greatest natural talents, gain insight about their most effective learning style and strategically determine a rewarding career path based on who they are as uniquely talented individuals.

The Career Center is currently offering MBTI, SII, and SQ free of charge to all Cal Poly Pomona active students.
