The Career Center Workshop series takes place each semester and is free to all Cal Poly Pomona Students and Alumni. PREP FOR VIRTUAL CAREER FAIR WITH “LOCKHEED MARTIN”

The Career Center is sponsoring the workshop Prep for the Virtual Fall Career Fairs.  The workshop is presented by Lockheed Martin and gives students/alumni information attending the virtual Spring Semester Career Fairs from the employer’s perspective.  This workshop is open to all students/all majors and alumni. Students will get information on how to market their essential skills to employers at the upcoming virtual career fairs. Students/alumni can click on the Zoom link to attend the presentation.

Learn how to develop an effective resume from scratch; format your resume intentionally, utilize appropriate industry buzzwords, and avoid common resume myths. This is a great workshop for everyone whether you are writing your first resume or seeking to update your already great resume. This workshop will also briefly address cover letter writing as well.

“Career readiness is the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace”. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has created a definition for Career Readiness. Through collaborative research with employers, NACE was able to identify eight distinct competencies. The goal of the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center is to equip students with knowledge and skill to utilize career competencies toward career readiness. All majors, class levels, and alumni are welcome to join us for this important workshop.
