CBA Surges in Pair of National Business College Rankings

College factual logo over CBA complex imageThe goal of joining the nation’s 100 most esteemed business schools is nearing fruition for Cal Poly Pomona’s College of Business Administration, according to some of the latest ranking reports.

Online resource College Factual placed the CBA 108 out of 747 for 2018, a 39-spot jump from the previous year. It was fourth among the acclaimed California State University system while finishing the highest among any of five CSUs within Los Angeles county. Only San Luis Obispo, San Jose and San Diego were listed ahead of the CBA.

College Factual begins its annual rankings with a field of the country’s top 15-percent of business programs. According to the study, the CBA made headway in the pacific region as well by climbing to the 16th spot in the Far West.

The latest news comes on the heels of a Diverse Issues in Higher Education list placing the CBA fifth in the nation at awarding bachelor’s degrees to minority students. Diverse Issues compiled graduation rates of minority groups at 100 institutions. In 2016-2017, the CBA conferred 938 degrees to minority students, representing 72-percent of all graduates.

In early 2016, the CBA began creating a strategic visioning plan with a list of initiatives that included improving its national ranking. An early measure of the initiative’s success was set at breaking into the Top 100 and the surge in the latest numbers provide reinforcement progress is being made.
