Internship Spotlight May 2019

Saul Garcia transferred into the TOM department from Environmental Biology last year. This summer, he will be interning at DHL Supply Chain as an Operations Management Intern. He will be working at the Campbell's facility in Rancho Cucamonga. He first met the DHL representative at the CPP College of Business career fair, then went on to have an on campus interview. A few weeks later, he was invited to tour the Clorox Facility in Redlands, along with other potential candidates from schools in the area. 

Joelle Boutros is a third year at Cal Poly in the TOM department. This summer, she will be working a supply chain internship at the Walgreens distribution center. This summer, she will be learning and using the DMAIC principles (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). She will also be using lean and Six Sigma. At the end of her internship, she has the opportunity to travel to Deerfield, Illinois to present her project. Joelle will also be serving on the OMS eBoard for the 2019-20 year as the Head of Campus Affairs. 

Jocelyn Jackson is a third year who transferred into the TOM department last year. She recently started her summer internship at El Dorado that was recently acquired by the REV Group. This summer she will be managing and updating complex reports that are used for monitoring daily productions shortage & expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities. She will also be on the OMS eBoard next year as Scheduler.
