Peter Kilduff, Ph.D

Dr. Peter Kilduff received his Ph.D. from the University of Leeds. His teaching and research embraces the competitive and structural dynamics of the global fiber, textile, and apparel industries and markets.  He has worked extensively with fiber, textile, and apparel companies, trade institutions, and government agencies in Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa, investigating industry policy and industry and market dynamics across a spectrum of fiber, textile, apparel, and related sectors.

Muditha Senanayake, Ph.D C Text ATI

Dr. Muditha Senanayake received his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in Textile Technology Management. He has more than 25 years of teaching experience in Textiles, Product development, Production, Operations, Quality and Supply chain management. Before joining academia, he has held several executive management positions in R&D, Product Development, Production, and Quality Management in the USA and Asia. His research interests are in the areas of demand manufacturing and technology Integration for Apparel Personalization and Customization specially using digital technologies.

chitra dabas

Chitra S. Dabas, Ph.D

Dr. Chitra Dabas graduated with a Ph.D. in Retailing from Michigan State University. She has a background in fashion designing and management. She also has more than five years of work experience in the Indian apparel industry. Her research interests include the following areas: barriers to international retail expansion, socially responsible business practices of fashion retailers, and the effect of technology adoption on business practices of fashion retailers.

Helen Trejo

Helen X. Trejo, Ph.D

Dr. Helen Trejo holds a PhD. in Apparel Design from Cornell University. She teaches in the area of textiles and research. Her research interests include exploring the intersections of fibers, fashion, agriculture, and technology to support a local clothing and textiles economy. In her research, she has surveyed and interviewed several U.S. small business owners and entrepreneurs who are part of a farm-to-fashion supply chain for sustainable fashion. Her current research involves exploring the use of emerging technology, such as virtual reality, to understand how it can be used to expand knowledge about rare sheep and wool from small farms in the U.S.

jiangning che ph.d

Jiangning Che, Ph.D

Dr. Jiangning Che received his Masters and a Ph.D. degree from China Textile University (Shanghai) in the area of Textile Coloration. Before joining Cal Poly Pomona, he worked for more than ten years in China's textile industry. He is actively involved in the leading professional organization - the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists. His research interests are as follows: :

  • Digital Color Application: Optical Model (correction), Algorithm (formulation), and Statistical Analysis (thermochromism) of Instrumental Color Measuring and Computer Color Matching.
  • Textile coloration: Textile coloration with natural colorants from Agriculture products and by-products.
  • Textile testing: material performance and optimization.

saemee lyu

Dr. Saemee Lyu, Ph.D

Dr. Saemee Lyu received Ph.D. in product development from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She has substantial experience in product development, anthropometric technology, 3D body scanning technology, and advanced pattern construction. She has actively participated in various scientific conferences for oral and poster presentations and fashion shows and exhibitions, including juried designs, giving her valuable experience beyond technical elements of design.

Claire Whang, Ph.D

Dr. Claire Whang holds a Ph.D. in the area of Retail Merchandising and Consumer Studies from the University of Minnesota. Her primary research interest lies in understanding "how the new technology influences the way consumers think, feel, and behave." Her research topic includes social media marketing, personalized advertising, and voice shopping. Her research is published in several peer-reviewed journals. 

Ann-Kristin Erdmann-Burt

Ann-Kristin Erdmann-Burt

Brand strategy expert with +15 years of experience in brand building and business development for global corporations and start-ups in the fashion, lifestyle, outdoor and FMCG industry. Former Global Head of Consumer Products at Red Bull in Austria, leadings Red Bull's global apparel business. Currently, Partner at The Brand Current, management consultancy specialized in brand strategy and management, CSR and sustainability. Since 2017 Visiting Professor at Cal Poly Pomona.

JC canedo

Dr. JC Cañedo

Dr. JC Cañedo holds a doctorate degree in Business Administration, a Masters degree in Human Resources, a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership along with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Cal Poly Pomona. Dr. Cañedo also has over 15 years of management experience in retail operations and retail distribution.  He currently has over 9 years of instruction experience at the collegiate level.

Nichole Dwyer

Nichole Dwyer has over 20 years' experience in retail management and ownership. Professor Dwyer has been teaching in the Apparel Merchandising & Management program for over six years in subjects such as Sourcing & Supply Chain Management, and Apparel Simulation Activity; a simulation course running a retail micro business. She is currently finishing her PhD in Global Leadership & Change from Pepperdine Graduate School of Education & Psychology.  

Dr. Seoha Min, PhD.

Dr. Seoha Min, PhD.

Dr. Seoha Min received Ph.D. in product development from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Her current research is grounded in theories from design and psychology with emphasis on practical implications for apparel design. Her research interests are driven by a desire to explore and improve our understanding of design and its impact on people and society. Also, her creative scholarship aims to explore new technical methods that can prove useful for designers.
