Through the examination of accepted practices, current trends, and the latest research, you will gain the skills necessary for the application of this important professional function within all private and public organizations.

The Human Resources Management Certificate consists of seven courses that are offered in a hybrid format. This format combines both classroom (face-to-face) time for 25%-75% of the course's contact hours with online asynchronous instructional modes. The asynchronous component is available to access at any time that is convenient for the student. This format is designed to accommodate individuals with busy schedules!

Dezzarae Henderson, M.A., PHR-CA, SHRM-CP, is an experienced Human Resources professional. Her experience spans over 20 years. She has worked for major companies like Paychex, Inc., McDonald's Corp. and General Motors. In these roles, as manager, she combined her HR and business knowledge to help companies grow, develop talent, and implement strategies in highly competitive markets. As the HR Director of a non-profit, Dezzarae sat on the executive team and worked under the CEO on company strategies, employee benefits, and employee engagement. While operating in a union environment, she was instrumental in the negotiation and ratification of two local union contracts. Along with achieving company goals, Dezzarae was an adjunct professor for two private colleges. She taught undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in the areas of management and human resources. She was recognized as a knowledgeable HR partner, and was asked to be a reviewer and writer for HRCI's (Human Resources Certification Institute) PHR exam for California.

She graduated from Chapman University with her BS in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Management and she obtained her Master's degree from Azusa Pacific University in Human and Organizational Development

 

Sharonda Bishop is the Founder and Owner of Bishop Consulting, a Human Resource, and Training company, serving Orange County and Inland Empire.  Sharonda possesses over 20 years of human resources, payroll, and training experience, working with employees and managers on a one-to-one level, honing their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. She is a lecturer, at Cal Poly Pomona, San Diego State University’s Global Campus and University of Riverside Extension, and providing educational/training programs in project leadership, diversity and inclusion, and human resources.

An active member of her community, Sharonda has held chair positions on the board of directors of Inland Valley Hope Partners and PIHRA (Professionals in Human Resources). She is proud to be a doctoral student at DePaul University, pursuing her DBA degree.

 

For Dr. Linda De Long, Year 2020 marked her 30th year adjunct teaching in higher education! She teaches leadership, HR and management at various colleges/universities. Dr. De Long received her undergraduate degree from Cal Poly, Pomona, with an MBA in Organizational Behavior from the Drucker School in Claremont. She completed her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne. In 2016, she was the recipient of Distinguished Professor of the Year.

A native Californian, Linda grew up in the San Gabriel Valley; she is married to Charles for 25 years. Teaching is Dr. De Long’s passion as well as her community engagement work.
