Advising Documents & Resources

Academic advising

There are three resources on campus for academic advising:

  1. The Bronco Advising Center is a campus-wide center where you can get help with academic records, financial aid, and student accounting.
  2. The CLASS Student Success Center is our college's advising center, which can help with questions about transfer credit, General Education requirements, and more.
  3. Faculty advisors in your major/option can help you plan your course of study, review your academic progress, plan future courses, and discuss your options for after graduation.

English Literary Studies, English Education, English Applied Language Studies, and Spanish majors select a faculty advisor in their major/option for themselves. Note that, while the Bronco Advising Center and CLASS Student Success Center are open during regular business hours, you can see faculty advisors during their office hours or by appointment (see the link at right for advisor contact information and office hours).

It's a good idea to meet with your faculty advisor at least once year—and don't wait until your registration period opens to do so, because there will be a line out your advisor's door. Before meeting with your advisor, you should do two things:

  • Check your Student Center in BroncoDirect to see if you have any holds on your account, and try to take care of them.
  • Have at least your next year of classes tentatively planned out in MyPlanner in BroncoDirect. To learn about using MyPlanner, click here.

Degree Curriculum Sheet archive

Your curriculum year determines your graduation requirements, and each curriculum year has its own "pink sheet"/ degree curriculum sheet in each major/option. It is imperative in planning your classes that you consult the degree curriculum sheet for your curriculum year. Check your Degree Progress Report in BroncoDirect and consult a faculty advisor if you have questions.
