Laser Safety

Laser Safety

Employees and students requesting authorization for laser systems Class III and up must notify EH&S as soon as possible to review project proposals and equipment specifications. EH&S focuses on administrative and engineering controls to effectively reduce laser exposure to the lowest level feasible. Depending on exposure levels, special space considerations and even medical exams may be required. For more information, please contact EH&S and x4697.

Spill Kits

Spill Kits

EH&S has developed a standard spill kit for both chemical and oil related spills. EH&S kits include absorbent socks and mats to help contain a small spill as well as basic PPE such as a pair of goggles and nitrile gloves. Each spill kit is uniquely numbered and contains an anti-tamper sticker to ensure kits are promptly replaced once opened. If you need a spill kit, please contact EH&S at x4697.
