Spring Book Discussion Group

Not Light But Fire: How to Lead Meaningful Race Conversations in the Classroom” by Matthew R. Kay

This is one of the most important teaching books I have ever come across.  Even if you are in a quantitative discipline where discussions are about which term goes where in an equation, this book is worth the time because it gives strategies in addition to inspiration.  Group is limited to 8; the Faculty Center will provide the books.

  • WHEN:  TUESDAYS February 18, March 17, April 14, and May 5, 4:30 – 5:15 pm (or longer if people want to stay).  Please plan to attend at least 3 of the 4 discussions.
  • WHERE:  Vita Italian Bar & Grill in the Doubletree on Temple Ave, 2 miles from campus
  • HOW to participate:  Respond to the registration survey.
