Cal Poly Pomona College of Extended University

Cal Poly Pomona’s College of the Extended University (CEU) offers a offers a diverse range of degrees, professional development certificates, and courses.  To establish financial aid eligibility, you must be formally admitted to a degree program and enrolled in courses that satisfy your degree program requirements 

State financial aid programs (Cal Grant, Middle Class Scholarship, State University Grant) and fee waivers (including Cal-Vet fee waivers and employee fee waivers) are not available for students enrolled through CEU.  As such, there is no specific aid available for Dream Students enrolled in a program through CEU.

Administered by Cal Poly Pomona’s College of the Extended University, Open University allows members of the community to access Cal Poly Pomona’s quality university teaching without formally enrolling in the university as part of a degree granting program. Individuals who benefit from taking classes through open university include:  

  • Community members who are interested in taking courses in diverse subjects to pursue personal areas of interest or expand their professional skills  
  • Students who have left the university with a need to increase their GPA in order to be considered for reinstatement  
  • Students planning to enter a post-baccalaureate or graduate program who need to fulfill prerequisite courses or improve their GPA 

Financial Aid is not available to Open University students.   

Students taking classes through Open University must either pay the full amount they owe online through BroncoDirect or enroll into a payment plan in order to be enrolled in their classes.  Visit Open University for information on available payment options. 

Students pursuing the Accelerated Master of Science in Accountancy degree through the College of Extended University may be eligible for the following types of financial aid: 

You may apply for financial aid by filing the FAFSA.  You must complete a new or renewal aid application for each academic year you wish to be funded. When completing your aid application, include Cal Poly Pomona as a college you want your information sent to. Our School Code is 001144. 

If you are eligible for private education loans only, you do not need to file a FAFSA. These loans are borrowed directly from a lending institution.

The Cost of Attendance is broadly defined as the average cost to attend a college for one academic year – the fall and spring semesters.  The Cost of Attendance budget helps you and the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships determine approximately how much money you need to attend your program, and how much financial aid you need to meet that goal.  

Tuition and fees are paid directly to Cal Poly Pomona and CEU but are only a part of your total education costs. You also have to budget for room and board (housing and food), books, and transportation. Packaging & Release of Funds for the Masters of Interior Architecture 

The Masters of Interior Architecture program has special enrollment requirements which impact the timing of when eligibility for financial aid can be determined – as well as when funds are released.
