Cal Poly Pomona offers numerous opportunities for study abroad through programs at universities throughout the world. For more information on the programs available, visit the Cal Poly Pomona International Center, Study Abroad website or drop by the International Center Study Abroad Office in Building 1-104 to pick up information about the various programs.

Summer Aid

The summer semester at Cal Poly Pomona is considered the last term of the academic year. Your eligibility for Summer 2020 financial aid will be based on your 2019-2020 FAFSA or DREAM application. Financial aid options will typically consist of any federal aid you did not use during the academic year.

Veteran Benefits

The Veterans Resource Center is the best resource on campus to help students understand the admission process and special circumstances related to financial aid availability for veterans and military personnel students and their families. Students should still complete their financial aid application to determine general eligibility.

Ed.D. Program

An Ed.D. student cannot qualify for the Pell Grant or the State University Grant, but can qualify for loans. They must complete the FAFSA, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and take a minimum of 4 units each semester to qualify for loans. If the unit cap has not been reached or the loan aggregate (lifetime loan limit), the student may be eligible for loans until they reach the aggregate or unit cap.

Early Start Program

The goal of the Early Start Program is to better prepare students in math and/or English before their first semester, thereby improving their changes of completing a college degree. Limited Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. Students seeking financial aid must complete the FAFSA or Dream Act Application for the current academic year, and the one for the upcoming academic year. Summer is included in the current academic year so we use that application to determine grant eligibility, and the second application fulfills the upcoming academic year requirement and is used to check a student's eligibility for the Early Start Fee Waiver. Both are required to be complete prior to May 30.
