Computer Support and Standards

IT Client Services provides full technical support for a defined set of campus standard equipment, operating systems, and software applications.  IT fully supports all Windows and Apple operating systems supported by Microsoft and Apple that were imaged or deployed by IT on campus standard equipment.

IMPORTANT: Non-standard or older computer equipment will NOT be supported by the campus without IT approval.  CSU and CPP regulatory compliance policies and campus asset responsibilities require IT to maintain minimal security and property management supervision. Therefore, all campus standard and non-standard computing equipment are required to adhere to a basic level of technology assurance.  All campus computing equipment must be appropriately managed and maintained by a University IT support team.  Please click here to request an IT review for custom equipment purchases.  Click here for more information regarding non-standard or older computer IT support limitations.

"Limited" support may be available for specific IT approved hardware purchases.  However, please be aware "limited" support means IT support teams will not be able or expected to respond quickly to computer problems or performance issues.  The initial deployment and imaging process will likely be delayed.  IT support team hardware familiarity and troubleshooting capabilities will be limited.  The university does not stock similar backup devices for custom orders should the computer fail or need repair.  Therefore, users should expect longer turn-around times and disruption should a custom device experience major hardware or software failure.
