Bronco Family Orientation FAQs

The Bronco Family Summer Orientation Experience is made up of the following:
  • In-person, on-campus Orientation Day
    • You’ll hear directly from administrators and students regarding important campus resources and programs that will help you support your student(s).
    • This experience will also include opportunities to connect with the campus and other Bronco families.
    • Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
    • Parking is included.
  • Pre-Orientation Online Modules
    • Provides an overview of CPP academics, support services, student life, health and wellbeing, and more.
    • You can complete the pre-orientation module at your own pace, take breaks, and return to it at your leisure.
  • Bronco Family e-newsletter subscription
    • You will automatically be signed up for our monthly Bronco Family e-newsletter. This is how we will keep you up-to-date on what's happening on campus and invite you to events. Look for issues of the newsletter in your email inbox throughout the year!

Your student can add up to two guests when they make their Orientation reservation through their student portal. If you need assistance with registering parents, family members and/or supporters, contact our office at (909) 869-3604 or via email at orientation@cpp.edu. Guests who would like to speak to someone in Spanish can contact our office at (909) 869-6988.

Bronco Family Orientation Day topics include: University Housing, Parking and Safety, Career Center, Student Health and Wellness, Paying for College, and more! This is also your chance to interact with CPP students and administrators as well as other new Bronco families.

Spanish translation services will be available on select dates. Please contact our office for more details.

Yes, the fee is $70 dollars per guest. The Bronco Family Orientation fee includes parking, two meals, access to pre-orientation modules, a subscription to our Bronco Family e-newsletter, and programming throughout your student’s time at CPP.

Bronco Family Orientation Day fees are due by the date of the program you are attending. Please note, the Bronco Family Orientation fee is separate from the Student Orientation Fee. Unffortunately, no fee waivers are available for Bronco Family Orientation.

Yes! The Bronco Family Orientation Experience is separate, but occurs at the same time as the student’s Orientation Day. Students and Families will check-in together and be directed to their individual programs upon arrival. Check your confirmation email for more details about your orientation date and time.

Yes, if you would like to attend Bronco Family Orientation day on a different day than your student, please contact our office via email at orientation@cpp.edu or by phone at (909) 869-3604.

No, student orientation is for students only. However, the Bronco Parent and Family summer Orientation program, while separate, runs concurrently and is designed specifically to equip you with the necessary tools to best support your students.

The Bronco Family Pre-Orientation instructions will be shared via the email address that you entered when you made your reservation.

We recommend completing the pre-orientation modules before your in-person, on-campus Bronco Family Day so that you can come prepared with questions for our campus partners. Additionally, we recommend coming to Bronco Family Orientation Day with comfortable summer-appropriate attire as the day will be interactive. We will provide a continental breakfast and lunch in addition to water throughout the day although you may choose to bring your own snacks.

While Bronco Family Orientation Day is highly encouraged, there are many ways to get involved as a Bronco Family member beyond orientation. You can subscribe to the Bronco Family Newsletter, follow the Bronco Family Facebook page, attend one of our Bronco Family Academy events, and sign up to for volunteer opportunities throughout the year to get involved!

Prospective students should connect with CPP's Office of Outreach, Recruitment, and Educational Partnerships for information tailored to prospective applicants to CPP. The Bronco Family Orientation experience is tailored to parents, family members, and supporters of Cal Poly Pomona students that are starting their educational career with us.
