Transfer Orientation

Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, Orientation will be VIRTUAL in summer 2020.

Orientation is a mandatory enrollment requirement for all new Cal Poly Pomona students. Your orientation experience consists of three parts.

1. CPP Online Orientation

The CPP Online Orientation will be available for all students beginning June 1. You must complete the CPP Online Orientation in order for your Orientation Registration (ROS) hold to be removed. Successfully completing the CPP Online Orientation means that you have viewed all nine sections and passed the final test with a score of 80% or higher.

2. Virtual Advising and Registration

The reservation period for summer 2020 has ended. If you do not have a Virtual Advising and Registration reservation, contact us via email. You must complete the CPP Online Orientation prior to your Virtual Advising and Registration date. Your virtual small group advising session will be over Zoom with your academic department on the date you reserve and you will complete your course registration remotely via BroncoDirect.

3. Virtual Engagement

Our virtual engagement programs are your opportunity to connect with current students, new students, campus departments and support services.

Orientation Leader Small Groups

  • Orientation Leaders will lead small-group Zoom meetings where you will meet some of your fellow new Broncos and learn about how your Orientation Leader will support you throughout the summer. Your first Orientation Leader Zoom meeting will be the day after your virtual Advising and Registration date and the second meeting will be one week later.
  • Be sure to look out for an email (including a Zoom link) sent to your personal and CPP email addresses with the subject line: iMeet CPP - Connect with Your Orientation Leaders and Classmates. Please note, this session is not when you register for fall semester classes.

Campus Zoom Webinars

  • Campus departments and student support services - such as the Career Center, Student Health and Wellbeing, the Office of Student Life and Cultural Centers, Associated Student Incorporated, Bronco Advising Center, and many more - will host a number of webinars and Q&A sessions for you and your supporters to log in to and learn more about the resources that are important to you.
  • Recordings and other resources will be available for you to access when it is convenient for you. You can find the virtual engagement calendar by clicking below. It is also in the CPP Online Orientation platform and in the reminder emails you will receive from Orientation. Be certain to check your CPP email frequently.
