Complete your CPP Online Orientation before your Virtual Orientation Day. The Online Orientation takes about two hours to complete. You can save your progress and return to complete it. We recommend taking some breaks as you complete it. You can use any Internet-connected device to complete the Online Orientation (computer, tablet or smartphone).

Successfully completing the CPP Online Orientation means you have viewed all nine sections and passed the final test with a score of 80% or higher. Once you complete the CPP Online Orientation, your Orientation Registration (ROS) hold will be removed in one to two business days.

If you do not complete the CPP Online Orientation, you admission to CPP may be withdrawn.

MyCPP is your central portal to online CPP resources, including those that you'll use during your Virtual Orientation Experience and virtual instruction. The Bronco Advising Center (BAC) has a Virtual Advising Tool Kit containing lots of helpful tutorials and how-to guides. We also recommend checking out the Virtual Instruction Resource tab in MyCPP, which lists academic, advising, career, engagement and wellbeing support resources.

Virtual Orientation Day meetings are held on Zoom, BroncoDirect is where you register for your courses, and Blackboard is where your college will share advising information, such a curriculum sheets and roadmaps.

Before Virtual Orientation Day, review the New Student Registration Guide and check out Student Success Central for key advising resources, the academic calendar, videos, contact information, and more.

In order to register for classes on Virtual Orientation Day, clear all negative holds indicated in your BroncoDirect Student Center holds section. Negative holds restrict your class registration. Other holds are simply there to provide information (positive holds).

The Bronco Card is the official Cal Poly Pomona photo identification card for all Cal Poly Pomona faculty, staff, students and affiliates. Visit the Bronco Card website for complete photo guidelines, FAQs, and the photo upload link.

The student edition of the Orientation Resource Guide is loaded with information about your new home, including how to get involved, where to find academic support, and much more. Use your CPP credentials to log in and download the guide and review it before your Virtual Orientation Day.

Virtual Orientation Day consists of:

  • iMeet CPP: This is your opportunity chance to connect with your Orientation Leader and other new students. You will meet some of your fellow new Broncos and learn about student life at CPP.
  • Virtual Advising & Registration: Small group advising sessions with advisors and other students in your major will be conducted over Zoom and you will register remotely via BroncoDirect.

All meetings are conducted over Zoom. Your reminder emails will contain your Zoom links so please keep these emails! You can access Zoom via MyCPP or by going to cpp.zoom.us. Be sure to use your BroncoName and password to log in to Zoom so your attendance can be recorded accurately. Even though you can use Zoom on a computer, tablet or smartphone, we recommend logging in to your meetings, especially Virtual Advising & Registration, on a computer.

Not attending your Virtual Orientation Day may result in your admission to CPP being withdrawn.

Select campus departments will host webinars the week of January 11. Join as many as you would like!
