Complex problem-solving influenced Neeyati Sanjay Ajmera’s interest in computer science. As a freshman recipient of a Google scholarship to learn application development, Neeyati was “thrilled that I could be both methodical and creative at the same time to build something useful. I love that there is an element of rigidity as well as creativity in computer science.” She applies her skills and experience to her communities as a peer mentor with the Asian Pacific Center, a volunteer with a K-6 STEM competition,  Astounding Inventions, in the Irvine and Tustin Unified School Districts, and a software engineering intern at Avanade, a global IT services firm. Her career aspiration in educational technology is rooted in a belief that technology will enable us to transform work and its education helps students to leverage their strengths. She is thankful to her parents for their unwavering support and to her professors for their commitment and setting an example for her own aspirations to teach at a university.
