Sarah Grace Petras’ interest in literary studies is based on her belief that writing is a valuable and accessible way to understand the struggles, tensions, and excitements felt by people living through historical moments. “The way that this field is in constant flux, despite studying novels and writings who's text has never changed, is incredibly exciting to me,” Sarah says. Her goal is to pursue a graduate program in archival studies and publish literary research, inspired by professors in the English and Modern Languages department such as Dr. Kate Ozment and Dr. Alison Baker. Sarah is grateful to her family and friends for their encouragement, especially to her mom who she says “worked incredibly hard to make sure I could get the best education possible. I couldn’t ask couldn't ask for a better person in my corner, and I certainly wouldn't have reached the accomplishments and goals that I did without her.”
