How To Become A Project SUCCESS Scholar

2 Steps to Become A Scholar

  • Complete the myBAR application by June 12: Click Here
  • Enroll into our EWS 2000 Course* on BroncoDirect. You will receive a permission number to enroll in the class after completing the application (Our program is a course and will require 1-2 hours per week. If you already have a class on Thursdays from 1-2:15 p.m., unfortunately, you cannot join unless you shift your schedule.)

Project SUCCESS

Project SUCCESS is a program that comes with an included course that counts toward your degree at Cal Poly Pomona. Each semester you are in the program, you will register for an EWS (Ethnic & Women's Studies) course that is worth 3 units. All assignments given by Project SUCCESS count as coursework for the EWS course. By signing up for Project SUCCESS, you agree to register for the course and to complete all assignments.

Requirements and Expectations

  • Must be a full-time (12 units each semester) entering first-year Freshman registered Cal Poly Pomona student for the entire 2019 – 2020 academic year
  • Expected to maintain a minimum of 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) during the program, with the goal to achieve no less than a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Must enroll in Ethnic & Women's Studies (EWS) 2000 for Fall 2019 and EWS 2800S for Spring 2020
  • Expected to participate in regular grade checks throughout the academic year
  • Must commit to attending ALL of the Project SUCCESS Community Gatherings, Social Gatherings, Events, and Kin group meetings throughout the academic year
  • Must be willing to meet one-on-one with mentors, faculty and staff on a regular basis
