Safer Return at Cal Poly Pomona

Subject: Preparing for Spring 2022

Dear Bronco Community,

I hope the fall semester is going well. We are half-way through the fall semester, and it is time to prepare for the Spring 2022 semester. In Spring 2022, we will return to primarily in-person classes. At this time, 77% of our spring classes are scheduled to include an in-person component. While there will be online courses in spring, it will be difficult for students to register for a completely online schedule of classes. Registration for spring classes begins on Monday, October 11.

Cal Poly Pomona continues to prioritize the health and safety of our community. Our Health and Safety Plan describes the multiple tools we are using to mitigate the COVID-19 virus on our campus. A key element of this plan is that all community members must adhere to the vaccine/exemption mandate. Student Affairs will accept student attestations for students who will not be coming to campus at all during the spring semester.

With all of us doing our part to follow the plan, we are confident in our safe return to campus.  I will continue to share updates about our return to campus as I have them, and I encourage you to stay informed by reading the weekly Safer Return News email and taking advantage of the weekly Virtual Town Hall to ask your questions.

Cal Poly Pomona is a special place, and I look forward to our collective return to campus. I am in awe of the resilience, creativity, and perseverance of our community in following our signature learn by doing approach to an inclusive polytechnic education throughout the pandemic.

Sincerely,

Iris S. Levine, DMA
Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
