Face Coverings

Based on state and county public health guidelines, people in California are required to wear a material that covers the nose and mouth (i.e., cloth face coverings) to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Face coverings are required on campus at all times, except to eat or drink. Members of the general public should use a clean face covering anytime they are in public or private spaces and in contact with other people who are not household members. Face coverings are not a substitute for always practicing physical distancing and frequent handwashing.

In compliance with this order, the university will provide a reusable cloth face covering to each essential employee who needs to come to the campus for work-related duties, as defined by their manager.

Please note that cloth face coverings are not considered medical-grade coverings. They are intended to reduce the spread of infectious particles when the user speaks, coughs, etc. They are also intended for multiple use and can be washed and reused. Guidance on the purpose, use, care and options for acceptable, reusable cloth face coverings such as bandanas, homemade face coverings, scarfs, etc., can be found on the LA County Public Health website

Some individuals may be exempted from these guidelines. Please contact the Disability Resource Center, Student Health Services or email healthalert@cpp.edu for questions and concerns.
