 Mary E. Mogge Scholarship

Dr. Mary E. Mogge taught in the Department of Physics at Cal Poly Pomona for more than thirty years (1979-2014) and served as the Department Chair for six years (2001-2007). She was the first in her family to attend college and is passionate about helping support other first-generation students who are interested in continuing their studies in the field of Physics. The goal of the Dr. Mary E. Mogge Physics Scholarship is to provide financial relief to students who are responding to challenges, issues, and events affecting underrepresented communities.

 

Scholarship Criteria:

*Must be a current Cal Poly Pomona student

*Student must be a Physics major

*Must be Sophmore, Junior, or Senior level standing

*Must be full-time during the period of the award

*Must have an overall 3.0 GPA or above

*Must have a 3.0 GPA or above in Physics

*Student must meet financial need requirement as determined by the FAFSA or Dream Application

*Student must have completed at least one full semester Physics course at Cal Poly Pomona prior to applying

*Must have completed the calculus-based Introductory Physics sequence (or the equivalent of the 2-semester, calculus-based Introductory Physics sequence courses) and at least one sophomore or higher level Physics course

 

Preference is given to first generation, diverse, and low-income students.

This scholarship is open to non-California residents and non-U.S. citizens.
