Once again departments incorporated the use of sustainable materials in the design of their floats. This year's parade honored theme honored our retiring President and First Lady with "Reflections fo Dr. and Mrs. Ortiz".

Career Center Receives Platinum Certification

Congratulations to the Career Center who was recently recognized by the PowerSave Campus for achieving Platinum Certification in the Green Space Program! Departments may participate in this optional certification by completing a simple application and energy audit conducted by PowerSave Campus interns. 2013 DSA Holiday Float Parade

Departments showed thier commitment to reducing our carbon footprint with floats made from sustainable, reused, and repurposed items with the Office of Financial Aid, the Registrar's Office, and SAITS taking first, second, and third place in the parade.

2013 Green Space Certification Ceremony

Admissions, Athletics, Counseling Services, Enrollment Services, Orientation Services, the Registrar's Office & Student Affairs Information Technology Services were recognized for receiving Green Space certification. A special plaque was presented by the Power Save Campus Interns to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to commemorate their achievement as the first department on campus to obtain Platinum Certification.

As in previous years, the highlight of the division Holiday Party was the float parade with entries made of reused and recycled products. Departments were challenged to design with the theme of "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" in mind. Congratulations to our winners University Housing Services, Registrar's Office, and the Children's Center.

As the division gathered to celebrate another successful academic year, departments were called upon to produce "green" centerpieces, this time with a western theme. The Career Center took first place with their entry: "Sheriff Nacho".

Once again, departments were called upon to produce "green" floats to show off their holiday spirit. SAITS took the challenge to heart, "reusing" last year's entry. Congratulations to our winners: Sweepstakes: Counseling & Psychological Services; First Runner-up: University Housing Services; Second Runner-up: Office of Student Life & Cultural Centers.

This year's End of the Year Picnic took on a Go Green theme with the use of eco friendly paper products and decorations. Staff were also asked to consider the environment when creating their centerpiece entries. Congratulations to the Career Center on their 1st place win.
