Safety and Support

Cal Poly Pomona supports and encourages prompt reporting of sexual misconduct. Reporting provides resources to victims and contributes to keeping the campus safe.

The Office of Institutional Equity & Compliance (OIEC) oversees the University's compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations and CSU System policies, including discrimination, dating and domestic violence, sexual misconduct, religious accomodation requests and more.

Inclusive Excellence, in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, is committed to promoting inclusivity on our campus and wants know when we have been successful and when we have fallen short. We want to know about your experience. Inclusive Excellence will use these submissions to identify patterns, recognize and celebrate acts of inclusion and develop strategies for community improvement where needed.

The University Police Department is a full-service, sworn police agency that operates 24 hours a day, year round. The department provides law enforcement, emergency response, conducts criminal investigations, offers crime prevention and educational programs, support for special events and a range of other services.

Public safety is a shared responsibility. We all play a role in maintaining a safe campus by taking responsibility for our own safety and looking out for one another.

Survivor Advocacy Services (SAS) provides confidential support, prevention education, and promotion of advocacy for individuals impacted by sexual violence, dating/domestic abuse and stalking in the Cal Poly Pomona community.

The Office of Student Conduct and Integrity is responsible for administering the CSU's standards for student conduct. The office promotes standards of behavior that support Cal Poly Pomona's mission, vision and values of learning, responsibility, integrity, inclusiveness and excellence.

The office impartially administers a disciplinary process that protects student rights, upholds the integrity of the academic community and fosters ethical development.

Student Support and Equity Programs (SSEP) operates the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), transitional programs such as Summer Bridge and Transfer Bridge and Renaissance Scholars.

EOP is a comprehensive post-secondary access and equity program serving low-income, typically first generation students who demonstrate the motivation and potential to succeed in college. Summer and Transfer Bridge programs offers transition programs for EOP students to develop essential skills for their college experience.

Renaissance Scholars empowers foster youth through critical resources and a supportive environment to ensure student success.

The Poly Pantry was established in 2019 to serve students impacted by food insecurity.  By providing access to food and basic necessities and referrals to campus and community-based resources, the Poly Pantry hopes to maximize student success.

The Pantry is available to all who feel they are in need. As a customer-choice pantry, individuals are empowered to shop for what they need and want, in order to meet their dietary needs.

The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos Care Program is a comprehensive campus-wide Basic Needs’ initiative that serves students experiencing housing instability, food insecurity, and other emergency/crisis situations.

The program goals are to provide students in need with:

  • Food resources
  • Housing support
  • Emergency funds
  • Case-management support

All of these areas play a critical role in a student’s academic success, health and wellbeing. This is a campus-wide prevention and early intervention program hosted by the Division of Student Affairs.

The Children's Center provides daycare and evening services for student parents though a developmental program for young children ages 2-5 and potty trained, as well as an infant care program. The Children's Center uses a combination of teacher directed and child initiated activities, and maintain a low teacher/child ratio.

Children receive frequent, positive and warm interactions from the staff. Staff are licensed by the California State Department of Social Services and Community Care Licensing. The center operates on a non-discriminatory basis.

The Veterans Resource Center provides veterans and military personnel a centralized source for information, support, guidance and community. As a military-friendly campus, the VRC offers a dynamic and supportive academic community and hands-on opportunities for leadership, academic and personal growth.

The VRC offers a number of services to student veterans and dependents, including:

  • Introduction to veteran-specific services
  • Computers and free printing
  • Referrals to campus and off-campus programs and services
  • Peer support, counseling and guidance
  • Assistance with navigating policies and processes
  • Connection with other veterans
  • Advocacy and support with campus faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Scholarship opportunities
  • Career workshops and events
  • Veteran recognition events
