Director of CARE Services Hired

Today, the Division of Student Affairs announced Judy Juarez Crawford as the inaugrual Director of CARE Services at Cal Poly Pomona. In this role, she will work within the Dean of Students Office to create and sustain a campus-wide culture of care through the creation of the university's first CARE Center, a one-stop space for students to garner holistic and culturally relevant resources and support.

Judy has served as the Basic Needs Care Services Coordinator at Cal Poly Pomona since 2018. In this role, she assisted CPP students to secure food and housing resources on campus and in the community. As the inaugural Basic Needs Coordinator at CPP, she developed several new programs and services to support students' basic needs. Some of the programs developed include the Emergency Grant Program, Emergency Housing, College Focused Rapid Rehousing Partnerships, and a CalFresh Outreach Program.

Judy has collaborated with the campus community through the Basic Needs Task Force which she co-chairs to implement Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and the Basic Needs Ally Program.

As a first-generation Latina and Cal Poly Pomona alumna, Judy is passionate about serving the community and those in need. She holds an M.S. in College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific and a B.A. in Sociology.
