Student Affairs Launches EDI Website for Staff
May 1, 2023
The Division of Student Affairs has identified staff development as a key divisional priority. When it comes to equitable student success, the connection between ongoing staff learning and tools that positively support our diverse students’ identities and lived experiences is undeniable.
As a division grounded in equity, diversity, and inclusion, we understand the demand for continuous education, inspiration, and activation for equitable opportunities at our university and beyond. In 2022, the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) was adopted as the signature divisional tool to promote ongoing personal and professional learning. This critical decision has set a baseline approach on how to create equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) professional development pathways while also inviting all staff to think deeply about their own identities, experiences, and worldviews.
The following resource was created in response to the different learning avenues offered by the IDI and the inaugural campus-wide Black Thriving Initiative. Whether starting the professional development journey at self-awareness or reflecting on equitable outcomes, these resources seek to help all learners.
This webpage offers four unique self-directed EDI professional development pathways:
- Pathway 1: Core EDI Terminology and Related Concepts
- Pathway 2: Racial Justice and Cultural Humility Learning Series Curriculum
- Pathway 3: Professional EDI Communities of Practice
- Pathway 4: EDI Skills and Resources for Managers
