Ten student veterans were paired up and assigned one of five horses from the Arabian Horse Center. Each student team are responsible to care for their horses and learn basic handling skills, including safe halting, leading and grooming. Students meet with their assigned horses in group and individual settings; in group settings, students are provided with an understanding of horse behavior, anatomy and riding techniques; in individual sessions on their own time, students receive relaxation and stress relief through a bond they form with their assigned horse.
