Hi, my name is Robbie Solis, and I am an Apparel Merchandising and Management major with an emphasis in Apparel Production. I am a first year transfer with junior standing at Cal Poly Pomona. So far, my favorite experience at Cal Poly Pomona would be taking fashion courses for my major in Apparel Production. I am able to be hands on and enhance my fashion skills through my fashion courses. As of now, my career goal is to learn more about opening up a clothing brand so I can create my own clothing company in the future and be successful at it.  I am excited to be an Ag Ambassador for the College of Agriculture! This gives me the opportunity to share my experiences and educate students on what CPP has to offer and the many opportunities you can get involved in. I look forward to meeting new people and creating new experiences. On my down time I am currently working on my own active wear clothing line and I also personal train/workout to keep others and myself healthy and positive!

Hi, my name is Chloe Gutierrez. I am currently a sophomore at Cal Poly Pomona and majoring in Animal Science. I am from Riverside, CA, which is approximately 30 minutes away from Cal Poly Pomona. I currently am involved in AG Ambassadors, Alpha Xi Delta, Foal Watch and the Pre- Vet Club on the Cal Poly campus. I work at an animal hospital in Yorba Linda, as well as at Kellogg West hotel as a banquet server. When I graduate, I plan to be entering grad school to eventually become a veterinarian and work in a rehabilitation center for marine wildlife. My favorite Cal Poly Pomona moment is when I had the privilege of volunteering at the Arabian Horse Center and was able to witness a mare have her colt. I’m excited to become an AG Ambassador because I will have the opportunity to engage with my peers and faculty, all while gaining knowledge about my campus and improving my leadership and communication skills.

My name is Casey Harvey and I am currently a third year Animal Science major with an emphasis in Pre-Vet. I am from a small town in Northern California called American Canyon that is 45 minutes north of San Francisco. I am involved in the Ag Ambassador program as well as Sigma Kappa and Foal Watch here on campus. I am an intern at a dairy farm in Ontario - ask me about it! During my free time I enjoy playing soccer, adventuring, and giving love to my foal watch mare. After I complete my bachelor’s degree, I hope to move on to vet school to pursue my dream of becoming a large animal vet. My favorite thing about Cal Poly is how hands on I get to be here. I got to work with cattle my first day! Who else can say that about their school? My goal as an Ag Ambassador is to share with potential students my experiences as a first-generation student in hopes that it will help them and also what it is like to attend Cal Poly!

After graduation, I plan on attending graduate school to further my studies and to later work in a laboratory. This is my first year as an Ag Ambassador and I cannot wait to learn more about the College of Agriculture. Hi! My name is Emma Medina, and I am an Animal Science major at Cal Poly Pomona. I was born and raised by the beach in Ventura, California. I love to spend my time swimming, hiking, eating sushi, or relaxing with my Shi-Tzu mix, Leia, and my Ragdoll cat, Gideon. My favorite experience at Cal Poly Pomona thus far is getting to interact with all of the animals on campus, and meeting amazing people along the way. Currently, I am involved in Pre-Vet Club, Horsemanship Club, Foal Watch, Animal Science Club, VeRG, and the Kellogg Honors College. I’ve always had an interest in animals and a passion for agriculture. I grew up in 4-H, which inspired me to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. I am beyond excited to be an Ag Ambassador for the College of Agriculture! I look forward to educating students on the various opportunities the college has to offer, build more connections, and help prospective students fall in love with Cal Poly Pomona the way I have!

Hello everyone! My name is Alejandra Alegria and I am a fourth year animal science major, minoring in physiology. I am a transfer student and my plan is to attend veterinary school and specialize in surgery after finishing up my undergrad here at Cal Poly Pomona. I’ve had a passion for animals and medicine ever since I was a young girl, dissections in labs are always my favorite! I am super excited to be an Ag Ambassador this year. I love talking to people about my passions and interests and I think this is a great way for me to share my love of Cal Poly Agriculture with students! I want prospective students to be aware of all the great opportunities Cal Poly Pomona has to offer. My time at Cal Poly Pomona so far has been spent working on campus at Starbucks making lots of lattes, volunteering at the sheep unit with all the cute lambs, and recently I was elected an E-Board member of the new Animal Science Club here on campus for the 2018-2019 school year.  I am originally from the Bay Area but I have been loving my time here in SoCal. I love exploring new places and getting off campus. In my free time, I enjoy bullet journaling, eating donuts, and watching Grey’s Anatomy.

Audra Linney

Audra Linney

Major:  Animal Science, Pre-Vet

Year in School: Junior

Email:  alinney@cpp.edu

Hi! My name is Audra Linney and am very excited to be an Ag Ambassador! I am from Fresno, California and moved here to sunny Southern California in order to study Animal Science here at Cal Poly Pomona in the hopes of one day becoming a veterinarian. Generally when I am not at school I can be found with my friends or at the barn. I have been a horseback rider for twelve years so it was no shock when I joined the riding team here on campus. I go home often to see my family, especially my dog. From a young age I always had a deep love for animals and an interest in science so picking the major that mixed the two together just made sense! So far, my favorite experience here at Cal Poly Pomona was one of my Animal Science labs where I was able to learn how to handle piglets and lambs. As an Ag Ambassador, I cannot wait to help incoming students learn more about the school and all the opportunities it has to offer as well as share some of the great experiences I have had here with them. I hope you are as excited for this year as I am!

As an Ag Ambassador I look forward to sharing my knowledge with prospective students and letting them know about all the great opportunities awaiting them at Cal Poly Pomona.

Isaiah Barboza

Isaiah Barboza

Major: Agribusiness and Food Industry Management

Year in School: Junior

Email: isaiahb@cpp.edu

Hi! My name is Isaiah Barboza and I’m a junior studying Agribusiness at CPP, and I’m from the heart of California: Madera. Since my freshman year I’ve taken risks and opportunities that have certainly propelled me further into improving myself and learning about the world around us with activities such as working on the farm at CPP, volunteering and working at AGRIscapes for the Pumpkin and Spring on the Farm Festivals, studying abroad in Costa Rica, and becoming an Ag Ambassador. With this position, I plan to share these experiences and more to communicate to students that although attending college requires effective time management, responsibility, and accountability, the time at Cal Poly Pomona should be an insightful and rewarding experience. Being a first-generation student to attend a university motivates me to inspire others in striving for the highest potential in life. My favorite experience here has definitely been growing each year and gaining valuable friendships along the way. I hope, as an Ag Ambassador, to not only pass on my experiences and knowledge, but also emphasize the importance and diversity in Agriculture.

Haley Rubia

Major: Animal Science, Pre-VetHaley Rubia

Year in School: Freshman

Email:  herubia@cpp.edu

Hello! My name is Haley Rubia, and I am an Animal Science major with the desire to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Because of that dream when I was little, in the future, I want to hopefully practice on small/companion animals and/or exotic animals in an animal hospital or with time, in my own clinic. I am currently a member of Pre-Vet Club, Veterinary Research Group, and other clubs at CPP. Furthermore, I am a part of the Achieve Scholars Program, Four-Year Pledge, and the Kellogg Honors College. When I'm not busy with school or clubs and have actual time for myself, I love to read, knit, watch anime or K-dramas, listen to different genres of music, and/or sleep. So far, my favorite CPP moments would have to be Homecoming, the Pumpkin Festival, and the ASI events such as Paint on Canvas and Plan N' Sip. While I may only be just a freshman at Cal Poly Pomona, my experience and involvement in the clubs and programs on campus have honestly led me to meet some amazing people here and helped connect me with the best group of friends. That is why I wanted to become an Ag Ambassador. Not many people realize how awesome CPP is and the great opportunities that can help with the future, and I want to be able to help students discover those interesting and important facts about Cal Poly Pomona, especially about the College of Agriculture.

Hello! My name is Allison Alvarado and I am a transfer student from College of the Desert. I am an Apparel Merchandising and Management major with an emphasis in retail. I love my major and Cal Poly Pomona, and am excited to show students everything we have to offer!
