The Apparel Merchandising & Management (AMM) program at Cal Poly Pomona is kicking off the new academic year with a networking social for its alumni, current students and industry friends on Sunday September 18th, 2011 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Entertainment will be provided by Kenrick “ICE” McDonald, Master Magician from the Magic Castle, a fashion show featuring southern California designers staged by the university's Fashion Society, while local fashion and accessory vendors will be selling their merchandise. There are lots of raffle prizes to be won, ranging from apparel and cases of wine to store and restaurant gift cards. The venue is the Kellogg West Hotel & Conference Center on the Cal Poly Pomona campus.
In addition to providing networking opportunities for students and alums and recruitment opportunities for local employers, proceeds from the evening will support student scholarships and student facilities in the AMM department.
The event is open to anyone in the apparel and related sectors of the industry and their friends. Dr. Peter Kilduff, AMM Department Chair, says it will be the biggest party the department has hosted in its 15 year history.
