Welcome to the Apparel Merchandising & Management (AMM) major at Cal Poly Pomona. Our goal is to provide the very best education in apparel business and technology as it relates to the development, production and retailing of fashion and other apparel products.
Southern California, and Los Angeles in particular, have emerged as a global center for fashion, active sports apparel and related industries. Our bachelor’s degree will prepare you for a diverse array of career pathways in the international apparel production and retailing industries and related sectors. See the Careers and Salaries page for more information.
Our home is Building 45 on the Cal Poly Pomona campus. Here we have a self contained facility that includes classrooms, multiple computer labs, a model apparel factory, a model retail store, a body scanning laboratory, a garment and textile testing lab, our leadership resource center sponsored by Target, and student facilities including: private study and meeting rooms, a kitchen and a lounge.
AMM students are primarily drawn from around California but also include out of state and international students. They are united by an enthusiasm for their subject. When school is in session and classes are running there is a buzz that permeates through our whole building. It is the buzz created by students who love what they are doing.
We have a first class faculty team, with qualifications from leadings schools, and who are internationally known in their respective fields. All have hands-on industry experience, are active in the pursuit of new knowledge and are committed to making learning an interactive, challenging and rewarding experience.
Last but not least there are our dedicated staff members who keep us running smoothly, making sure our equipment and labs are maintained and ready, that lost becomes found, and that problems are turned into solutions.
