Poinsettia Plants on Sale at Cal Poly Pomona

Poinsettia plants are returning to the Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store and the AGRIscapes Greenhouses for the holiday season!

Poinsettia, which are grown at Cal Poly Pomona by plant science students, are available at the Farm Store daily until they are sold out. The plants are available in small, 4-inch azalea pots for $3.50; or large 4-inch standard or 6-inch pots for $5 and $10 respectively.

Larger poinsettia pots also are available at the greenhouses, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2
  • Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Dec. 7 to 9
  • Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Dec. 14 to 16.

Prices for poinsettia in the greenhouses range from $3.50 up to $40 for the largest plants.

Santa Claus will visit the greenhouses for photos from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 16. Customers can make their own mistletoe decorations and meet Cal Poly Pomona’s baby petting farm animals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9.

In addition, gift-ready plant arrangements will be available for sale. Customers also can partake of a hot cocoa bar for a $1 contribution to the Department of Plant Science scholarship fund. They also can take holiday pictures with a special photo prop at the greenhouses.

The greenhouses, which are adjacent to the Cal Poly Pomona Farm Store, will accept cash and credit cards. Customer parking is available in a gravel lot to the west of the greenhouses and curbside pick-up at greenhouse entrance.
