Offices & Programs
The Office of Academic Innovation (AI) team includes the Center for Community Engagement, Kellogg Honors College, Office of Undergraduate Research, and the Student Innovation Idea Lab (SIIL) . In addition, AI is tasked with institutionalizing the Learn Through Discovery (LTD) Initiative which aims to provide EVERY Cal Poly Pomona student with a signature polytechnic experience as well as enable students to articulate their signature experience. Cal Poly Pomona’s NSF I-Corps Site is housed in the Office of Academic Innovation; the site aims to support faculty and students in translating their research into the marketplace.
Student Innovation Idea Lab
The mission of the Cal Poly Pomona Student Innovation Idea Lab (SIIL) is to create and maintain an ecosystem to foster creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. The iLab provides resources, opportunities, and workshops for CPP students that catalyze the learn by doing process.
Kellogg Honors College
The Kellogg Honors College (KHC) is a community of motivated high achieving students at Cal Poly Pomona. The KHC promotes academic excellence and intellectual exploration through honors courses, civic engagement and special events. Students can join the honors college as incoming freshmen, current first-year freshmen finishing one year at CPP, and incoming transfers.
Center for Community Engagement
The Center for Community Engagement (CCE) advances a culture of meaningful engagement by promoting service-learning, volunteering and cooperative education through sustainable partnerships with community and industry.
Learn Through Discovery
The Learn Through Discovery Initiative (LTD) promotes student success through undergraduate research, innovation, and community engagement. Students can get involved through the LTD Hatchery, which provides funding and resources for student projects.
Cal Poly Pomona NSF-ICorps
The NSF-ICorps program program prepares researchers to extend their focus beyond the university laboratory and accelerates the economic and societal benefits of research projects that are ready to move toward commercialization.
Office of Undergraduate Research
The Office of Undergraduate Research at Cal Poly Pomona (OUR-CPP) was established in the fall of 2013 to increase undergraduate student participation in research programs. Participation in research as an undergraduate has been proven to not only expand a student's academic experience at CPP but also improve retention and graduation rates.
