The Computer Information Systems Department in the College of Business Administration at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2020.

The Positions:

The candidates will teach primarily undergraduate and potentially graduate level courses, publish in relevant peer-reviewed journals, and provide service to the Department, College, and University. Applicants whose work demonstrates a global perspective and a commitment to inclusive excellence and diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

1) Ph.D. in Information Systems or related discipline from an AACSB accredited university at time of appointment.
2) Demonstrated evidence of or commitment to research resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications. Candidates with doctorate conferred more than 5 years ago must have at least two peer reviewed journal articles within the past five years.
3) Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence in higher education.
4) Demonstrated evidence of a commitment to diversity through research, teaching, and service while working effectively with a diverse student population in an inclusive environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

1) Academic and/or industry experiences in one of the following areas of cybersecurity.
      Network security;
      IT infrastructure;
      Information Systems Auditing.
2) Experience providing industry outreach.

The Department:

The CIS Department has a history of innovation in the IS discipline from being a leader in the development of the IS major to leading in the development of object-oriented programming. More recently the department has been leading in the cybersecurity field through the development of cybersecurity competitions to promote and assess learning. The department serves nearly 1,000 undergraduate majors with ten faculty members. The department has a strong learn-by-doing philosophy that has led to numerous student clubs and competition teams that compete nationally in fields such as cybersecurity and data analytics. There is a student-run hybrid-cloud data center, a student-run security operations center and labs focusing on topics such as computer networking, network security, computer forensics and IT Audit. The department and its clubs host events such as a cybersecurity symposium, an information technology competition and numerous fairs each year.
