SIOR Student Scholarship

Scholarships up to $3,000.00 per Recipient*

The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) is a leading trade association of commercial real estate professionals. The SIOR Foundation and its local chapter www.SIORSOCAL.com established a scholarship program to encourage and assist qualified students in obtaining an education that will lead them into productive careers in the commercial real estate industry. Should you fit the requirements below, you are strongly encouraged to apply with the enclosed application form.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • All applicants must be United States citizens.
  • Applicants must be a full time business or finance major at a four year university located in either Orange County or the Inland Empire. Undergraduate sophomores and Juniors are strongly preferred.
  • Recipient(s) who are selected must attend the SIOR Dinner meeting on May 1st, 2019 to receive the award in person. The dinner will be held in Orange County, the exact location is still to be determined.

Selection Criteria:   The selection, at SIORSOCAL’s sole discretion, will be based on the following criteria, which should be submitted along with your completed application:

  • Career objectives: Business career with a strong preference toward those pursuing a career in commercial real estate. Please specify your plans upon graduation.
  • Resume: Please provide a copy of your resume and list any work experience, training, licenses, internships or other activities that you have accomplished to date.
  • Grades: Please provide a copy of your student transcripts and overall GPA.
  • Need based: The applicant’s economic need or situation – please describe.
  • References: Please provide at least two references. Ideally letters of recommendations by the student’s instructors and/or two other individuals from the business community.
  • Interview: An in-person interview will be required of finalist candidates in Ontario, CA.

CREW Inland Empire Foundation Scholarships

The CREW Inland Empire Foundation Scholarships is purpose-specific, local scholarship that is available to women interested in pursuing a career in a qualified field within the commercial real estate industry. Scholarship winners are not only given funds for their education, but they are also given the opportunity to network with the most dynamic and successful industry professionals in the local commercial real estate community.  

The CREW Inland Empire Foundation accepts scholarship applications from March 1 to September 30.

Award Amount: $2,000

  • Must be applied to future tuition and books only.   To be used within a 24 month period.

Scholarship Benefits: 

  • One-year Student Membership in CREW Inland Empire.
  • Lunch or dinner with CREW Inland Empire Board Members.
  • Registration to the Glass Sipper Dinner & Silent Auction event.
  • Mentoring and networking opportunities.

Eligibility:

  • Female with a minimum cumulative GPA 3.0.
  • Enrolled at an Inland Empire community college or university.
  • Intent to pursue a career in the commercial real estate industry ( qualified fields of commercial real estate)
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and financial need.

The ICSC Foundation Scholarships

The The ICSC Foundation Scholarships is an academic scholarships that is offered to students with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in retail real estate or a related field. With nearly   $100K in scholarship funding available, we are excited to announce the opening of our applications for the 2018-19 academic year.

 In addition to a generous monetary award, scholarship recipients receive an all-expense paid trip to   RECon- the global retail real estate convention- or a regional ICSC conference, pairing with an industry mentor, free ICSC student membership and other valuable support services.

  • Federal Realty Undergraduate Diversity Scholarship  – One $5,000 renewable scholarship available
  • Schurgin Family Foundation Scholarship  – One $10,000 scholarship available
  • Schurgin Family Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship  – One $10,000 scholarship available
  • Scholarship for Families of ICSC Members  – Five $2,500 renewable scholarships available

Award Amount: $2,500

Eligibility:

  • Provide verification of enrollment at a United States university.
  • Be rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior.
  • Be registered as a full-time student the year after receiving the scholarship.
  • Have a 3.5 GPA or higher.
  • Submit a completed application and all required documents by the application deadline.
  • Declare a major related to real estate.
  • Have an interest in pursuing real estate after graduation.
