Non-Profit Management

Overview

The Online Non Profit Management Certificate Program is a joint campus program developed by California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (CPP) and California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) under the advisement of non-profit industry leaders. It is designed to prepare professionals who are currently serving in the non-profit organizations, as well as individuals who are looking to transition into the non-profit sector.   The core competencies in this non-profit program will be taught through case studies in order to build knowledge and skills for quality management. The program consists of five, five-week courses.

 

Persons currently employed in nonprofit positions, or those outside the nonprofit sector who want to transition into nonprofits.  Those who may want to start a nonprofit, board members, donors, and volunteers for an organization.

Dr. Geri Abracosa

Dr. Geri Abracosa has over twenty years of senior leadership experience in developing and deploying business-driven goals to maximize the potential of organizations.  She has extensive background in developing strong and effective leadership teams to guide and direct an organization’s programs, services, and human resources capital to achieve strategic growth.  She has provided her leadership expertise for a variety of organizations in different industries in both not-for-profit as well as for-profit environments.  She conducts training workshops on team development, change management, conflict resolution, organizational behavior, performance management, and legal elements of human resources.  She has also owned her own business providing contract services for the County of Los Angeles, Department of Health Services, the City of Los Angeles, Accounting Department, and the Orange County Transportation Authority.   She is currently the Director of Employee Relations at Western University of Health Sciences.  Dr. Abracosa completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA, an MBA from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne.
