CRGSince the publication of her first novel Nadie me verá llorar (1999), Cristina Rivera Garza has generally been recognized as one of the most innovative Mexican and Latin American novelists currently working. The author of 6 novels, 3 story collections, 4 books of poetry, as well as essays and works of criticism, she has won several major European and Latin American literary prizes. Eclectic and challenging, she explores themes of violence (reflecting the current violence in Mexico), sexuality and the body, visual art and photography, madness, and others in a wide geographical spectrum (from Mexico City, to China, to Siberia). She will read from her work, take questions, and sign books. Event in English. All welcome.
