A Staged Reading of The Force of Habit

A Staged Reading of The Force of Habit

Oct 1, 2017 5:00 PM to Oct 1, 2017 8:00 PM at Building 25, Studio Theater

Can gender be learned and unlearned? Felix and Hipólita, two siblings separated at birth, are brought up in the habits of the opposite gender, until love crosses their paths...

Join us for a staged reading of the Golden Age Classic The Force of Habit (ca. 1610) by Spanish playwright Guillén de Castro. This dramatic reading is produced by the Southern California Shakespeare Festival (SCSF), and the Department of Theater and New Dance at Cal Poly Pomona, in conjunction with Diversifying the Classics, directed by Barbara Fuchs of UCLA, and the Department of English and Modern Languages, at Cal Poly Pomona. It is directed by Bernardo Solano, chair of the Department of Theater and New Dance, and performed by members of the SCSF.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. Discussion to follow.
