The Spanish and Catalan Issue: Past and Present

Nov 1, 2017 4:00 PM to Nov 1, 2017 5:50 PM at 24B-1421

On October 1, 2017, Catalonia held a referendum to secede from Spain, and on October 27, the Catalan parliament declared independence. Then, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy used an article of the Spanish constitution to dissolve the Catalan regional parliament.

Amidst this political turmoil, Drs. Amàlia Llombart and Marta Albalá Pelegrín from the Department of English and Foreign Languages will discuss The Spanish and Catalan Issue: Past and Present, as part of the Saul Landau Lecture series. Join us for refreshments and discussion. This event is free and open to all.

Sponsored by the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences; California Faculty Association; and Campus Forum Committee.
