About the Department

Welcome from the Chair

In Cal Poly Pomona's tradition of "learn by doing," music majors get hands-on experience through master classes with renowned artists, internships in the music industry and field experiences in teaching. We have over 250 majors choosing degree paths in performance, composition/production, industry studies, music education and general studies in music. Our general-education classes, such as Introduction to Music, Music Appreciation and World Music, as well as our ensembles are open to all university students, regardless of major.

If you have questions about how to become part of the Department of Music, feel free to contact me.
