Medea, written 2,000 years ago, is one of the greatest of all tragedies. To this day, the play still shocks with its violent tale of revenge.

Perhaps William Congreve sums it up: Heav'n has no Rage, like Love to Hatred turn'd, Nor Hell a Fury, like a Woman scorn'd.
