Nestor GonzalesE-commence & Marketing Director, The Original Wine Club

Nestor is part of Team 132, a team that specializes in growing the presence of Pernod Ricard brands in independent accounts and upcoming multicultural chains (mercados). He has been with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (SGWS) since November 2014.

He held the role of Chains Sales Merchandiser in Marina del Rey and Sherman Oaks/Encino territories, building key relations in top accounts. In the past year, his presence in the Team 132 has help grow Pernod Ricard brands by double digits from previous years. Identifying key accounts for each brand and maximizing the presence on sales floor. Furthermore, he has further his knowledge in the beverage industry by obtaining WSET II Wine & Spirits with Merit and WSET II Spirits with Distinction; never stop learning in an ever-changing beverage industry.

As a undergrad, Nestor was involved with Student Alumni Association, held the positions of Fundraising Chair, Vice President and finally President his final year at Cal Poly Pomona. He had the honor to be Dr. Margie Jones teaching assistant for the wine courses where he met Ira Norof, Director of Education and Events at Southern. Where he soon volunteered at various events and sparked the interest of being employed with SGWS. He left great memories at various Collins College events where he was not event present, but in disguise as Billy Bronco. “That’s the most memorable experiences I had at Collins was being the mascot an seeing all the professors, faculty and fellow students interact with me through dancing, participating in activities and especially the photographs!”

Spare time what is that in the hospitality industry, just kidding! Nestor enjoys attending movie theatres, food adventures, sports events (LAFC, LA Kings, & LA Lakers… sorry not a Doyer fan but Cubs fan), and music festivals (music is in my veins… from the Misfits to Above & Beyond).
