Rising Seniors are students participating in the program who are currently high school juniors entering their senior year. During the program, students will stay in residential suites, participate in skill building activities, as well as be exposed to academic, social, cultural opportunities available on campus.
The RISE program enables students to pursue a University education, provides them with the necessities for graduation, and empowers them to obtain their goals after college. With this in mind, the program hosts several interactive workshops for the students.
These interactive workshops consist of:
The University/College Application Processes: students will learn about how to complete admission requirements to ensure a positive outcome.
Financing a University Education: information about steps necessary to help students fund their education, i.e. Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Majors: Selecting a major is a large part of the University application process and making an informed decision will facilitate the timely graduation of students.
Social Aspects of University Life: a University education extends beyond the classroom and this workshop provides students with information on clubs, organizations, research, and internship opportunities.
Leadership Development: this workshop focuses on the skills necessary to be a leader on the campus and within various communities.
